Jim Sands becomes President of Envirotest

Envirotest, an Opus Inspection, Inc. subsidiary, welcomes Mr. Jim Sands as President. Mr. Sands is a leading business executive with more than twenty years of vehicle inspection industry experience in various positions, who brings global experience and proven leadership to Envirotest. Mr. Sands has a strong customer relations orientation and will be instrumental in continuing the company’s focus on our customers’ needs in the U.S. centralized vehicle inspection programs and remote sensing operations.
Envirotest currently has contracts to provide and manage centralized vehicle inspection programs in six jurisdictions across North America, testing more than 5.5 million vehicles annually. The subsidiary has over 1,000 employees, and provides patented remote sensing technology worldwide that measures tailpipe exhaust as vehicles pass by under normal roadway conditions. Under Mr. Sands’ leadership, Envirotest will play a significant role in the Opus Inspection portfolio of product and service offerings.
With Mr. Sands’ appointment, Mr. Lothar Geilen will continue as CEO of Opus Inspection and Envirotest. “We are extremely pleased that Jim has chosen to join Envirotest,” said Lothar Geilen. “I have personally known Jim for many years.
